Customer payments
How your customers pay you: payment methods with manual review, online payments with Mercado Pago, prepaid and cash on delivery, and how receipts are checked.
On this page
Your seller tells your customers how to pay, with the payment methods and instructions you set up.
Two ways to get paid
In Payment methods there are two groups. Payments with manual review: transfers, digital wallets, cash and others, where your customer pays on their own and you review each receipt. Online payments: your customer pays with a link and the provider confirms the payment, such as Mercado Pago.
| Manual review | Online | |
|---|---|---|
| Examples | Bank transfer, digital wallet, cash | Mercado Pago |
| What your seller sends | Your instructions and, if you like, your QR | A payment link |
| Who confirms payment | You, with the receipt | The payment provider |
Methods with manual review
Each manual method has a name, a category (cash, digital wallet, bank transfer, card, cryptocurrency or other) and the Customer instructions your seller gives to pay, such as the number or the account. It can be Active or Paused: your seller only mentions active ones.
Active
Your seller offers it.
Paused
Your seller does not mention it.
QR and payment images
With Attach QR or image, your seller can send up to 5 reference images, such as your QR code or account number (PNG or JPG up to 5 MB). For each one you say When should it be sent?, for example «when the order is confirmed». For that, your flow needs the Checkout block in Flows and Rules.
Online payments with Mercado Pago
With Mercado Pago connected, your seller generates a payment link for each customer and puts it where you wrote {{link_pago}} in the instructions. Online payments are offered in the flows where you turn them on, in Cart and checkout; with none, no links are sent. The name «Mercado Pago» is reserved for the integration, and it is best not to also keep a manual card method. In the order you see the online payment status: Paid, Payment pending, Payment not completed or Overpaid.
Prepaid, cash on delivery and partial payments
When your customer pays is set on each shipping type, under Payment method: Prepaid (they pay before you ship the order), Cash on delivery (they pay on receipt) or, for pickup, Pay in store. With Allow partial payments, they pay only a Minimum upfront, as a percentage or a fixed amount; the order shows as Partial, with the amount still owed.
Prepaid
Pays before shipping.
Cash on delivery
Pays on receipt.
Pay in store
Pays at pickup.
Payment receipts
For your seller, only an image recognized as a payment receipt counts as one: a digital wallet or transfer screenshot, or a voucher. A product photo, a catalog screenshot, an ID document or a photo of an agency are not recorded as payment. If there is no receipt, your seller asks for it and does not confirm the sale or say it was received. You validate the payment in the order.
Counts as a receipt
Wallet or transfer screenshot, voucher.
Does not count
Product photo, catalog screenshot, ID document, photo of an agency.
In each order's Payment receipts you see the payment images and where they came from: Sent by the customer, Uploaded by you or Attached automatically. You can add one (JPG or PNG up to 16 MB), remove one that does not belong and restore it later, and confirm the payment with Validate payment.
