WhatsApp balance

What the WhatsApp balance pays for, the message types, how to top it up, what happens when it runs out and the alerts you see.

If yavendió! bills your Meta messages, your WhatsApp balance pays what Meta charges for your WhatsApp messages: replies to your customers beyond your free pool, campaigns, automations and API sends. It is deducted for every delivered message, at Meta’s price plus processing fees, and it is in the same currency as your plan.

What is deducted

Replies to your customers

The ones beyond your monthly pool of free replies.

Campaigns

The ones you send from the CRM. Delivered messages only.

Automations

Reminders and automatic messages from your flows.

API sends

Messages your systems send through the API.

Your plan’s conversations come with your plan and are counted separately. The WhatsApp balance is a separate prepaid balance that pays for the messages WhatsApp charges. They are not the same thing.

Message types

Rates are per country: each business sees its rate per message type in WhatsApp balance after its first send.

Top up

Your WhatsApp balance is topped up by card: in one click with the same method you pay your plan with, credited instantly, or with another card on the Stripe payment page, which has no cap. The minimum top-up is US$ 5.

Auto-reload

With auto-reload, every time your balance drops below a minimum you choose, a fixed amount is topped up with your saved card, up to a monthly cap. The options are: below 10, top up 30; below 20, top up 60; below 50, top up 150; with a cap of 120, 240 or 480 a month, in your balance currency. The cap is required.

When the balance drops below It tops up
10 30
20 60
50 150

Monthly cap 120, 240 or 480.

Movements and usage

In WhatsApp balance you see your available balance and how many days it lasts, this month’s spend and projection, usage by message type and the Movements: top-ups, sent messages, refunds and adjustments, which you can export. Messages that were not delivered are credited back to your balance.

When the balance runs out

If yavendió! bills your Meta messages and you run out of balance, campaigns and automations wait and resume on their own when you top up, with no need to reactivate them. Your WhatsApp replies keep going while you have free replies left this month. With no balance and no free replies, WhatsApp replies may pause, from the seller and from your team, except with customers who came from an ad in the last 7 days. They come back when you top up or when your free replies renew on the first day of the month. Your other channels keep replying.

Campaigns and automations

Wait for balance.

Resume on their own after a top-up

WhatsApp replies

Keep going with your free replies. With no balance and no free replies, they pause.

Resume after a top-up or on day 1 of the month

Your other channels

Instagram, Messenger, TikTok and web chat keep replying, even with no balance.

Meta cost None

Your WhatsApp balance never goes negative. If a reply that was already delivered could not be paid because the balance ran out, it stays pending and is deducted from your next top-up.

Alerts

If yavendió! bills your Meta messages, it lets you know by email and WhatsApp, and in the panel, when: at your spending pace you have less than a week of balance left; the balance ran out and your campaigns and automations are waiting; you have used 750 of your 1,000 free replies this month with no balance for the next ones; and when your WhatsApp replies pause.

Alert in the panel When it shows
Your balance is running low · Your balance is almost gone At your spending pace, the balance lasts only a few days
You have … free WhatsApp replies left Your free replies are close to running out and you have no balance
Your WhatsApp balance ran out Your campaigns and automations are paused

If Meta bills your card

If your WhatsApp Business account has its own payment method at Meta, Meta bills your messages directly to that card and nothing is deducted from your WhatsApp balance: you do not need to top up. The page shows an estimate of what Meta will charge you this month. If you have unused balance left, you can request a refund, made the same way you topped up.
