What counts as a conversation

A plan conversation starts when a customer with no open conversation writes to your AI seller or receives a WhatsApp template you sent, and it ends after 24 hours without activity. It is counted per conversation, not per person: a customer who writes on Monday and comes back on Wednesday adds up to 2 conversations.

How conversations are counted, with examples →

Your plan’s conversations come with your plan and are counted separately. The WhatsApp balance is a separate prepaid balance that pays for the messages WhatsApp charges. They are not the same thing.

At 100%

From Starter on, if you see it in Plans, with the Extra conversations switch you decide what happens when you reach 100% of your plan. On, your seller keeps answering and each extra conversation is billed at your plan’s rate. Off, your seller pauses until your next renewal and you are not charged anything extra. It comes off.

Extra conversations on

Extra conversations off

Your seller pauses until the renewal.

Charge Nothing extra

The Free and Light plans have no Extra conversations: on those plans, the seller always pauses at 100%.

If your seller paused at 100%, it replies again with the monthly renewal, when you upgrade, when you buy a conversation package (with an active subscription: not during the free trial) or when you turn on extra conversations.

Conversation packages

Conversation packages add extra conversations to your plan. You pay the plan upfront for 3, 6 or 12 months; the package, instead, is paid every month. In the month your plan is due, the plan and the package are charged together, in the same charge; in the other months only the package is charged. They can be bought from the Pro plan up, once the plan is paid: not during the free trial. The first month is charged in proportion to the days left until your renewal. If you cancel a package, you keep its conversations until the end of the current month; after that it does not renew and that month is not refunded.

Terms and free trial

The full term of a 3, 6 or 12-month plan is paid up front and, when it ends, it renews for the same period.

The 12-month plan includes 3 free months and the 6-month plan, 1 free month. They are already taken off the price: on the 12-month plan you pay 9 months and use 12. It is not 15 months of plan.

12 months 3 months

Starter, Pro and Business have a 7-day free trial for businesses that have not had a paid plan yet. You pay nothing to start it: when it ends, the plan is charged for the term you chose. If your plan is billed through Shopify, you do not see the trial.

How you pay

The plan is charged in US dollars (US$) to a card, and the 3, 6 or 12-month term is paid in full when you buy it. You manage your card from Manage payment methods, in Plans.

Change or cancel your plan

When you upgrade, the change is immediate: you pay the difference, with a credit for the part of your current plan you did not use. On a term plan, your renewal date does not change. When you downgrade, the change is scheduled for the end of your billing cycle and you keep your current plan’s benefits until that date. Meanwhile you see Scheduled plan change and can cancel it.

There are times when you cannot change plans: when your term plan has less than 30 days left (you pick the new plan at renewal), when you already have a pending plan change, when your account has a pending payment, or while you are still on the free trial without a paid plan.

When you cancel your plan, it stays active until your next billing date and ends that day without renewing. Cancelling the plan is not the same as deleting the business.

Without an active plan, for example when your trial or a plan you cancelled ends, your seller stops replying and no messages go out: no replies and no campaigns. Your products, your seller’s setup, your conversations, orders, contacts and metrics are kept. When you choose a plan, your seller comes back on the same number without reconnecting anything.

Pending payments

If the payment for your plan, a conversation package or your extra conversations is pending, the panel warns you to pay by a date or your seller will be paused. If you do not pay in time, your account is suspended for unpaid invoices: the seller and outgoing messages pause, and conversations show Paused for pending payment. It replies again once you pay; if you do not, your plan is cancelled automatically.
